Tsarina Signet - Circus Poster - First in Series - DCC - Limited Edition

$199.99

I am *so* excited to announce the FIRST in the Circus Poster Dungeon Crawler Carl Collection.

These are going to be in my High Art Nouveau style, and will have an open edition as well as a limited edition.

The piece depicted here is a snippet of the piece in progress. If you're on my patreon, you likely have seen more updated images as I work on her.  She will be in full, glorious color.

After running into Matt at Crypticon (we were booth neighbors) and picking up the Dungeon Crawler Carl books finally, I found myself hooked.  Which is hilarious, because the description didn't originally capture me - but once I started reading - it's just so good.  And I'm not a huge fan of a lot of genres.  However, when I am a fan, I like to make art, just like any artist.  So with Matt's permission, I made art.

After creating the initial Donut piece, I wanted to create something else.  However, I didn't want it to be just another rendition of Carl in his shorts - there's a lot of great art out there of that already.  Once I reached Grimaldi's Circus, I knew exactly what my next piece would be.

I've done actual posters for several productions - Operas, Circuses, Magicians, Fortune Tellers, Ballets - I even did the official Sixtieth anniversary poster for Carnival in the US Virgin Islands.   I've always been a fan of the creepy circus aesthetic as well as the mystique of the early days of the freak show.  There's an article all about this on my Patreon.

I've already created the backdrop for one of the creepy circus pieces - maybe Holly or the Clowns - and it's amazing.  However, for the FIRST in the series, I moved over to doing what I excel in - mostly naked strong and powerful women.

I give you - Tsarina Signet.  It took me a few tries to get her just the way I wanted her - the first few were not quite scary and seductive enough, but now I really love her - and this piece is going to be amazing.  You can't see in the thumbnail, but she's surrounded by a huge dragon tattoo that's enveloping her.

For the limited editions, I will be printing them on my watercolor paper. These are the editions which help fund my time to create my personal masterpieces - so I appreciate your support!  I'll be doing a little remarque on the signed ones, and likely adding some things in so that it's a little different from the open edition version.

For the super special one, I've been working with this watercolor paper that I can print on, and I want to add an area with line art where I can paint in some additional tattoo designs.

Since this is the first in the series, the dimensions and editions may change. But the good news is - if you preorder, and don't like where they end up, you can cancel it before I ship it to you.  Preordering just guarantees you get one.  If you decide you don't care for the finished art, you can cancel! (please don't tell me if that's the reason, I'm sensitive. :)  I'll be locking in the finished edition numbers as well.

Seriously, though - I've been OBSESSED with this piece.  My most popular pieces are the ones which keep me up at night, obsessing over them.  Fans can pick out which ones come from my soul - and this is one of those.  So it's going to be a winner.

Details will be updated here - but if you want to support me working on it, feel free to preorder. I posted the open editions, even though they won't sell out - just in case.   I wish I could say I was going to have her done for DragonCon, but I refuse to rush her - so, based on my other work, likely she'll be done in about four to six weeks.
